The Mexican Embassy in Georgetown is refuting an article written by columnist Frederick Kissoon which suggested that Mexico is a failed state. The release stated that Mexico was ranked 105 out of 177 countries in the 2008 failed state index,Adidas Yeezy Shop Online Italia, which is produced by the Fund for Peace and Foreign Policy Magazine. In that survey Mexico was seen as less likely to fail than countries such as India, Venezuela,Nike Air Max 90 Goedkoop Bestellen, Russia, China,Nike Shoes Discount Sale, Israel, Egypt among others. The release further stated that the country has a low risk profile because it has no significant ethnic conflicts, no separatists’ movements, no territorial disputes with neighbouring countries, nor no risk of military coup. The release said like all countries, challenges would come but the government has a clear and firm commitment to address them.Mexico provides public education to almost 30 million people and also the country has seen a steady improvement in health indicators (life expectancy goes to 75 years and infant mortality is under 15 deaths per 1000 births). With regards to the economic situation the release states that the public income has been rising for the past 10 years. The inflation has been reduced and remains at low levels, less than 10 percent since 2000.In relation to the fight against organized crime, Mexico is firmly confronting drug trafficking organizations and is definitely determined to put a stop to crime and defend the rule of law at all costs. It is true that there has been an increase in violence but it is the result of gangs fighting for control of cartel routes and operations, but mainly stems from the unyielding law enforcement campaign launched by the administration which has disrupted illegal activity and decreased the room for maneuver of drug syndicates. That campaign, according to the release, is producing promising results. It further states that over the past two years the authority has detained over 59,979 individuals involved in organized crime; they have seized 38,404 firearms and confiscated 17,615 vehicles, 261 boats and 377 airplanes. An unprecedented 78.3 tons of cocaine has been seized, along with 4,Air Max Gnstig Online Kaufen,390 tons of marijuana and 32.9 tons of heroin and heroin related materials. A significant amount of $334.7M has been confiscated by the authorities, the embassy stated. These figures according to the release reveal both he severity of the problem we are facing and the exemplary effort of law enforcement teams in Mexico. The country also has a strategy which is integral and covers the different high impact areas of social improvement.International cooperation also deserves to be highlighted as a part of the country’s effort to combat organized crime. The transnational nature of narcotics makes it difficult for any country confronted with this threat on its own.The full acknowledgement of the principle of shared responsibility is crucial to successfully meet this challenge. It is for this reason that the Mexican Government has negotiated and launched the Merida Initiative with the US government. Both countries consider transnational organized crime, particularly drug trafficking ,Wholesale Air Jordan China, as a top-priority and both share responsibility in the effort to dismantle drug trafficking.Mexico is also stepping up its cooperation efforts with other countries in South America and the Caribbean in the fight against organized crime.Money laundering,Camiseta Bar?a 2018-19, sharing of intelligence and law enforcement are some issues currently in discussion as part of an organized anticrime dialogue mechanism. – goods removal from overseas shelves worryingThe unfair removal of Guyana goods from shelves of overseas supermarkets and the absence of uniform standards to ensure that low quality imports do not hit the local markets are being targeted for redress by local businesses.Local businesses are calling for a review of Guyana’s sanitary and phytosanitary standards in light of reported incidences where local goods were pulled off shelves of overseas supermarkets.According to the Private Sector Commission (PSC), as Guyana strives to effectively compete in international trade,Nuova Maglia Roma 2018/19, there is a dire need to improve its sanitary and phytosanitary standards. These standards are used to ensure that food is safe for consumption and to protect human, animal and plant health from externalities that may affect their existence.Standards assist trade by offering authorities and buyers the reassurance that products purchased will not cause harm to the health of plants, animals and humans in the importing country,Wholesale Shoes From China Free Shipping, PSC stressed yesterday in a statement.“In view of the fact that Guyana is a developing country with abundant agricultural resources,Cheap Air Max 90 Australia, it is forced to meet the stringent sanitary and phytosanitary standards of developed countries. However, these sanitary and phytosanitary standards prove challenging to establish. Guyana lacks adequate capacity, equipment and laboratories to ensure that its products meet international standards unchallenged. There is also a great need for training to educate all stakeholders in trade about the importance of sanitary and phytosanitary standards.”Importantly, there is also a need for appropriate and suitable legislations for Guyana that are in-keeping with international best practice with clauses that suit the uniqueness of Guyana.“Most of the standards applied by the regulatory agencies emanate from international standardising bodies. These standards are not incorporated into the necessary legislation and regulations and as a result are difficult to enforce.”According to PSC, many local companies’ complain about the manner in which standards are imposed upon them and about the ambiguities in the laws especially those that are related to food products and which regulatory agencies should enforce them.“The private sector is concerned with the issue of sanitary and phytosanitary standards as it relates to both the import and export markets. From an import perspective, the issue is raised regarding the lack of enforcement of standards which leads to unfair competition for local goods.Conversely, on the export side,Chelsea Jersey Long Sleeve Nike, some exporters complained that their goods are removed from the shelves in other countries due to their failure to conform to the standards of the importing country and the difference in standards between the countries.”At present,Camiseta Atletico De Madrid 2019, there are several agencies in Guyana responsible for the application of sanitary and phytosanitary standards to enforce food safety and animal and plant health. These include the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Drugs Department of the Ministry of Health,Nike Air Max Halvalla, the Veterinary Public Health Unit of the Ministry of Health and the Guyana National Bureau of Standards.“There is scope for effective and improved sanitary and phytosanitary standards in Guyana. This lies with the Agricultural Export Diversification Programme (ADP) which is supported by funding from the IDB and aims to increase the growth rate of Guyana’s exports and promote the diversification of its agricultural exports.“Under the ADP, there will be a revamping of all legislation which govern animal and plant health as well as food safety to incorporate all international sanitary and phytosanitary standards.”The programme will also provide funding for the upgrade and setting up of all laboratories which are necessary for testing of animal and plant products. Among other initiatives,Cheap Air Max 90 Free Shipping, the programme will also provide for the modernisation of the local abattoirs which is geared at improving hygienic processing of animals in the food chain.“While these agencies address various issues, there is a great need for the private sector to be involved to ensure that the needs of the private sector are met.”PSC said that it will be working in collaboration with the relevant agencies through the National Competitiveness Strategy Unit in planning a workshop with all stakeholders.“This workshop will address the issue of sanitary and phytosanitary standards and certification; it will garner feedback from the private sector and address the issues from public sector enforcing bodies.” According to PSC, information on this workshop will be made available to the private sector soon.

I have travelled to numerous Caribbean countries and have always marveled at their breathtaking topography. Ironically, my travels overseas commenced in 1985 with a trip to Barbados to participate in the inaugural Carifta Boxing Championships staged in that country. Maybe, the fact that I was traveling with ambassadorial credentials saved me from the ‘esteemed privilege’ accorded to many Guyanese of straddling that renowned bench placed at the Grantley Adams International Airport. I was accorded all the courtesies of a distinguished traveler.A few years later, while destined for England, I made a stopover at the Barbados port of entry to facilitate a change of aircrafts for the second leg of my journey. In order to access the London immigration desk, I was required to pass through the Barbados immigration desk. I noted that most of the other passengers (non-Guyanese of course) were allowed entry without undue hassle. My case was different; I was grilled as though I was a suspected terrorist and even though I possessed a ticket to facilitate the continuing leg of my journey, scheduled for some eight hours later, I was subjected to a thorough grilling before I was allowed to enter ‘the Land of the Flying Fish.’The thing that most annoyed me was the nonsensical questions asked by the Immigration Officer. “How long do you plan to stay?” and “Have you ever been to Barbados before?” Now, both of those questions could have been answered by simply perusing my passport, which had a Barbados entry stamp supported by the fact that I was in possession of a ticket that clearly indicated that my final stop was at the Heathrow International Airport. Apparently, the Bajan official just felt that since I am Guyanese, it was his duty to present some difficulties for me irrespective of the legitimacy of my claims. This sort of disrespect for Guyanese by other Caricom countries is not only displayed in Barbados as my experience in ‘The Land of the Flying Fish’ during one of my visits there affirmed. One night while in transit at Piarco in Trinidad, on my way back to Guyana from London, I was extremely tired after an eight hour journey from the Heathrow International Airport and was eagerly anticipating a shower and a nice long rest upon my arrival in Guyana.Maybe out of tiredness, or pure ignorance, I really cannot recall, I failed to collect a transit ticket, which would have distinguished me from those passengers that were joining the craft from Trinidad and Tobago onto Guyana. At boarding time a voice over the intercom instructed the passengers traveling from England to board the craft first. Relieved, I approached the departure gate only to be stopped because I did not possess the transit ticket. Tired, disappointed and angry, I attempted to inform the official at the departure gate that I was traveling from England. I even presented my ticket to verify my point. He arrogantly stuck to his position and I was refused an opportunity of leaving Piarco among the first bunch.I sat near to the departure door and flung sordid remarks in his direction and in retaliation he ensured that I was the last person to board the craft. Of course, I would have had a parting shot for him and while I would have wished to share that remark with my readers,Air Max Salg Norge, as you would have guessed, it would not have passed my editor’s incisive pen.Ever since, talks pertaining to efforts to establish the Caribbean Single Market and Economy have begun, the skeptics have hinted at the inapplicability of the statutes to regularize this initiative. Indeed it would appear as though some Caribbean nations are only prepared to observe such an initiative in the breach.Barbados is notorious for treating Guyanese nationals shabbily and sometimes I marvel at our patience and tolerance with these people. At any given day,Camiseta Fc Barcelona 2018, one could troop to a certain section of the Bourda Market or the Stabroek Market and witness the groups of Barbadians that congregate at those points for a lime without molestation from our security forces. They just enjoy pure Guyanese hospitality. The whole notion of Caribbean integration rests on the viability and applicability of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy and while optimism is high, there seems to be a certain force that is precluding the transition process. It was former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Basdeo Panday who voiced a concern that another area of overdue implementation is the national arrangements for the free movement of skilled workers.Recently, the Barbadian government had voiced a concern about the large numbers of undocumented Caribbean migrants who have made no attempt to regularise their status on the Island and would be asked to leave. This is the definitive position of Prime Minister David Thompson,Manchester City Fc Store, responding to suggestions that his stance on the immigration issue may have “softened”, based on recent statements in the Daily Nation attributed to Minister of State with responsibility for Immigration, Senator Arni Walter.I have recently read some of the views coming out of Barbados on their take on Guyanese illegal habitation of their domain. One critic said, “When things were good in Guyana and not so good on some of the Caricom islands, island natives moved to Guyana. When things started to go downhill in Guyana and were better on the islands, Guyanese migrated and continue to migrate to the islands. It has been a two way situation,Man Utd Away Kit 2018/19, not a one way situation like Guyanese would like people to believe.”Another critic wrote, “People who know Barbadian history know that Barbados is home to many legal Guyanese immigrants and their offspring, many of whom are prominent in Bajan society. Bajans issue over 5,000 work permits to Guyanese every year. Bajans don’t owe Guyanese anything and neither do the natives of other islands. Trinidad, Jamaica, Antigua,Air Max 90 Saldi, St. Lucia, the Bahamas, Bermuda,Cheap Shoes Nz, St. Vincent and every other Caricom island and non-Caricom island have accepted thousands of Guyanese immigrants. What do you expect everyone to do, take in the entire population of Guyana because you all don’t want to work to rebuild it?”Herein lays the contentious issue. I have seen the Constabulary at work in Regent Street, ejecting the pavement vendors whose only source of income lies in their vending activities.Likewise I have seen Guyanese plying their trade as itinerant vendors around the Independence Square, Trinidad and Tobago. They are in Barbados’ main shopping areas. I have seen them on Bay Street in the Bahamas, in French Guiana and every conceivable part of the earth. Yet they are running pell mell from Guyana as though this country is plague infested.Maybe it is time the politicians take more than a cursory glance at the situation and implement the kind of policies that will make Guyanese want to return and build this dear land. As someone once said to me,Nike Air Max Baratas Online, politicians are the core hindrance to development. What an irony! Maybe a little tale told to me by a friend sums it all up.One day a cannibal entered the meat market to buy something nice for dinner. The owner greeted him and told him to look around. The cannibal began to inspect the meat case and noticed the market specialized in brain.Upon further inspection, he noticed a marked disparity between the costs of brain meats. A carpenter’s brain sells for $1.50 per pound. A plumber’s brain sells for $2.25 per pound. He noticed with alarm that a politician’s brain sells for $375.00 a pound. With not a little curiosity he asked the owner why the huge difference in price between the similar meats. The owner responded with a deadpan look on his face, “Do you realize how many politicians it takes to get a pound of brains?”

Darshanie Budhoo says that she wants to air her matter so that the negligence of some doctors at this hospital can be stopped immediately before more such deaths occur in the future. She stated that she was ready to deliver on the morning of February 25 and was seen by one Dr Luis who told her that she would need to perform an emergency Caesarian Section, to which she agreed. The doctor reportedly told the nurse on duty to prepare Budhoo for the operation theatre and then left her only to return some two hours later.“He just walked out of the labour room,Wholesale Authentic Jerseys, me na see he back until minutes to eight [o’ clock]”, she said. During this time, she had not seen the doctor again.Subsequently, the operation was done. It lasted 45 minutes. Upon regaining consciousness, Budhoo stated that she enquired about her baby and was told by the nurses that he was in a critical condition. They told her, too, that the child was in the incubator. Meanwhile, shortly after 12:00 hrs that same day, Budhoo said that a young female doctor, Dr Ramnarine, came and told her that “the baby was no more” and that he had a heart failure.Budhoo then opted to take the child home for burial. The girl’s family, including her sister, observed several ‘black- and- blue’ marks and swelling on the baby’s right arm and left foot. They are questioning how heart failure can result in these features and marks on the baby’s body. The woman stated that she believes her baby would have survived if the doctor had performed the delivery more expeditiously than leaving her for over two hours in the hospital theatre. The relatives are peeved about the entire situation and blame the death of the baby on the negligence of the medical authorities.“You can’t bring trainee doctors to deal with those situations. He [the doctor] leave the girl and gone home,” they said. The doctors’ quarters are located opposite the N/A Hospital.Budhoo said that she was shocked to hear that her baby had died, especially since it was just a few days ago that she had all the pertinent tests done at Woodlands Hospital on her baby,Maglia Milan Puma, all of which returned positive and favourable results.“The scan showed everything perfect; the heartbeat was ok”,Air Max 90 Baratas Online, she said.“Everything was perfect at 14 weeks,NFL Jerseys Wholesale, then I went to do another test [at Woodlands] at 7 months,” she said. She added that prior to the death of her baby; she had given a copy of that report from Woodlands Hospital to the nurse in the maternity ward. The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Four was thrown into further turmoil yesterday following allegations and counter allegations of assault involving embattled PPP/C Councillor, Kwame McCoy.McCoy had accused a female councillor from the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) of assaulting him after he turned up for a statutory meeting of the Council yesterday. But despite denial from the accused female Councillor, who was supported by Regional Chairman, Clement Corlette, the police proceeded to arrest the woman and it was not until the intervention of the PNCR leader, Robert Corbin, around 18:00 hrs, that she was released. The PNCR, in a statement, “condemned the actions of the Beterverwagting Police Station in arresting a PNCR Councillor,Wholesale Jerseys 2020, Maureen Philadelphia, on spurious allegations of assault by PPP/C Councillor, Mr. Kwame McCoy, in the precincts of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Chambers, today, 16 March 2010,Cheap Jerseys China, at Truimph, East Coast Demerara”.The PNCR stated that shortly after the RDC meeting had adjourned, at approximately 1:30 pm, a police officer from the Beterverwagting Police Station visited the RDC building and demanded that Philadelphia accompany her to the Police Station, on the basis of allegations of assault by Kwame McCoy.“Miss Philadelphia denied the allegations and explained that it was she who was assaulted by Mr. McCoy. Her allegation was supported by RDC Chairman,Jerseys NBA China, Mr. Clement Corlette,” the PNCR stated.Corlette told this newspaper that McCoy who was suspended from the RDC in February for 90 days, turned up at a statutory meeting of the body yesterday in defiance of the suspension. The regional chairman said that he immediately asked the Acting Regional Executive Officer,Maglia Milan 2018/19, Ashford Ambedkar if McCoy had received the official notification informing him of his suspension.Corlette said that he had instructed the Acting REO on three occasions via letters to inform McCoy about the suspension, but the Acting REO refused or failed to do so.The REO reportedly gave no reason for his non-action.The statutory meeting was subsequently adjourned and Corlette said that he will move to the court.According to Corlette, at the end of the aborted meeting, female Councillor Philadelphia was standing with others in the corridor of the RDC building when McCoy was seen pushing her.The Regional Chairman said that he immediately rebuked McCoy.He said that shortly after, a female police rank arrived with instructions to arrest Philadelphia.According to the PNCR, the police officer insisted that Ms Philadelphia should accompany her to the Beterverwagting Police Station.Philadelphia was detained for more than two hours while the Police sought to extract from her a statement in response to the allegations made. She was not released until after the intervention of an Attorney-at-Law retained by the PNCR.The PNCR stated that it is significant that,Wholesale China Jerseys, at the time of her release at 4:30pm and at 4:40 pm, when the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Robert Corbin, visited the station, there was no written statement by McCoy at the Beterverwagting Police Station in relation to the alleged incident. The PNCR said that it understands that McCoy, shortly after making his spurious allegations, gave the police instructions to arrest Philadelphia, and subsequently travelled to Georgetown to join in the birthday celebration of a Minister of Government. The party added that it also understands that, subsequent to the Leader of the Opposition speaking to the Commissioner of Police and leaving the compound of the Beterverwagting (BV)Police Station,Cheap Jerseys From China, McCoy turned up at the station and attempted to rectify the situation.“The PNCR condemns the behaviour by officers of the BV Police Station and calls on the Commissioner of Police to rein in his ranks,” the party’s statement said. The Leader of the PNCR has already written the Commissioner of Police requesting an investigation into this matter. At a press conference at Freedom House on Tuesday, McCoy said that he was disregarding the suspension since it was procedurally wrong and since no official notification was given to him.He accused Corlette of being intolerable and said that the PPPC councillors on the RDC will not be honouring unauthorised taxi bills which were racked up by the Chairman to the tune of $500,000.He also stated that the cost of a recent court case filed by Corlette against suspended Regional Executive Officer, Shafdar Ali, would also not be paid by the RDC since it never authorised the case in the first place.According to McCoy, the Chairman has on several occasions abused his authority even to the point of clashing with his own PNCR councillors who disagree with him. On one occasion, he said, Corlette even tried to open an RDC bank account without the necessary permission. On February 16, the PPP/C attempted to bring a motion to discuss Corlette’s leadership. However, this was disallowed since according to the Chairman, 96 hours notice was needed,Wholesale Authentic Jerseys, according to the RDC’s Standing Orders. The following week, in another meeting, Corlette allowed a motion to suspend McCoy for disobedience, the press conference heard. There was no 96 hours notice nor was the motion procedurally correct since it came up on the meeting’s agenda under “any other business.”According to McCoy, it is a clear attempt to “shut-up” the most vocal of the councillors and by extension, the PPP/C.The substantive REO, Shafdar Ali, is currently being investigated for alleged misappropriation of funds and other malpractices.

It is only when we took office that people were not just investigated but they were also charged and taken to court.”The administration came to office in May 11, 2015.Williams said that a lot of those cases have not resulted in convictions. He said that in some situations money as well as gold bars were returned to the person being prosecuted. However, he explained that this will not be sufficient in the fourth round.”In the fourth round, we will have to show effectiveness and that we are making sufficient progress, in other words, convictions. We can’t tell them we charged 100 people and we don’t have convictions.”He said that Guyana needs to do work in this regard because if initial investigation is done and this area is missing, the country can return to the ICRG review process. He stressed that what is important hereinafter is a large degree of self-assessment.”We have to start ensuring that all of these legal framework and regulatory framework are effectively addressed in the fourth round. By the time 2020 we must be able to show regular convictions for money laundering offences.”The AG said that the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) has been doing a lot of work. He said that the matter of state assets has been added to anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism process.

An eyewitness has come forward in the wake of the recent statement by Minister Robeson Benn that his son, Robeson Benn Junior, was assaulted by ranks of the Guyana Police Force. The Minister’s son was on Friday, June 20,Andrew Benintendi Jersey, accosted by the ranks after he allegedly failed to stop the motor car he was driving at their request.According to the eyewitness, it was about 16:50 hours on the day in question and she was standing at the junction of Princes and Mandela Avenue awaiting transportation when she heard the loud wail of a police siren. The woman said that she observed what appeared to be a high speed chase with a police vehicle in hot pursuit of a white AT 192 motor car. She noted that the car bearing registration number PHH 3805 was darkly tinted. The eyewitness pointed out that from all indication the police ranks were desperately trying to signal the driver of the car to stop. And according to her,Maglia Ante Coric, the car eventually came to a halt just over Princes Street close to the area where she was standing. The woman explained that the driver of the car eased his window down and arrogantly announced, “I is Minister Benn son…What the f… y’all want?”She said that a rank approached the young man and requested that he present his documents to which the young man promptly disclosed, “I don’t have no f…ing paper to give y’all. Me father is a Minister of the government and anytime y’all lock me up Minister Rohee gon lose he f…ing wuk tomorrow (Saturday). ”By this time,Carl Yastrzemski Jersey, the woman said, a large crowd had converged at the scene.Nonetheless, the woman said that the ranks continued to request the documents even as they pointed out that they would have to carry out a search on the vehicle because of the degree of the tint. The young man,Cheap Baltimore Ravens Jerseys, however,Killian Tillie Jersey, continued to curse the ranks, the eyewitness said. It was at this point she said that the police took the young man into their custody, placing him in the police vehicle.According to the woman,Maglia Inter Ranocchia, the entire scene was that of a young man being disrespectful to law enforcement officers. She said that she was most surprised that the officers were extremely tolerable given the broadcasted reputation of ‘black clothes’ ranks. The woman said that she had never before had the need to side with ranks of the police force but had no choice when she saw the Kaieteur News headline “Minister Robeson Benn charges police with shakedown, spiteful arrest.”The woman said that she read the article with disgust and thought that it was appalling that the Minister could have come to that conclusion without even thoroughly investigating what transpired.“How could the Minister say that the police assaulted his son when he was nowhere there?” The Minister’s son was on Monday charged with disorderly behaviour and placed on $10,000 bail. However,Authentic MLB Jerseys, Minister Benn in his statement indicated that he and his family are prepared to take private action and intends to review the police methods following what they claim was the violation of the young man’s legitimate rights as a citizen. It added that the incident was “evidently another shakedown attempt by some rogue policemen which became awry and degenerated to road rage and actual assault on a young man protesting the violation of his legitimate rights as a citizen.”

…teaches grown upsAs a 13-year-old, Lithonia resident, Stephen Stafford II, can usually be found sitting in front of the television playing video games or playing his drum set. But Stafford is no typical 13-year old – he’s a college student. The triple-major child prodigy is becoming a sensation at Morehouse College.“I’ve never taught a student as young as Stephen,Luke Kennard Jersey, and it’s been amazing,” said computer science professor Sonya Dennis.“He’s motivating other students to do better and makes them want to step up their game.”“When I saw how much knowledge Stephen has at such a young age, I wondered what I had been doing with my life,Custom Tottenham Shirt,” laughed third-year student, Eric Crawford. A psychology major and computer science minor, Crawford wanted to step up his game so much that he got Stephen to tutor him. “Even though I’m older, Stephen is like a mentor and my elder in computer science,” said Crawford.Even at age 11 when Stafford started at Morehouse, he got the highest score in his pre-calculus class. “He breezes through whatever I throw at him. If it’s an hour lab, he can do it in 20 or 30 minutes,” said Dennis.Stafford said he isn’t nervous about studying with students much older than himself. “I just do what I always did. I show up, I do the work, and I go home,” he said.Stafford’s mother,Bill Lee Jersey, Michelle Brown-Stafford, home-schooled both her children (Stephen has an older sister also in college) and believes that parental involvement is essential for students to excel. But when she realised her son was starting to teach her instead of being taught, she knew he needed to be in a college environment.“It was surreal because on one hand he’s talking about technical things I didn’t even understand, and on the other hand he was asking me to come watch Sponge Bob with him. So it was bittersweet to let him go.”Brown-Stafford wondered if there were other parents who shared her experiences with a gifted child, so she found a support group: www.gifted-spirit.comand the Morehouse family has become a support group for Stafford, personifying the African proverb about it taking a village to raise a child.Stafford is too young to stay on campus, so his mother picks him up and drops him off each day. The students protect him and make a point not to curse or discuss certain mature issues around him, according to his mother and Stafford.Even the staff of Jazzman’s Café,Brooklyn Nets Pro Shop, where Stafford tutors Crawford, helps nurture Stephen into becoming a “Morehouse Renaissance Man” – well-spoken, well-dressed, well-read, well-traveled, and well-balanced.The cafe’s general Manager, Darren Page, added an unofficial principle: well-fed. “A Morehouse Man cannot study on an empty stomach,” said Page. So whenever Stafford comes to Jazzman’s, Page gives up his own employee meal for the 13-year-old.It seems that everyone wants to be a part of helping Stafford graduate in 2012, and go on to Morehouse School of Medicine. And because of a Georgia law that requires a student to be 16 to graduate high school, he’ll be getting his high school diploma the same year he receives his college degrees in math, computer science and pre-med.“Kids will live up to your expectations. But I ultimately want Stephen to be happy,” said Stephen Stafford Sr. Brown-Stafford added, “I want him to be well-rounded and still connect with kids his own age,Cheap Atlanta Falcons Jerseys, so we put him in DeKalb County’s 4-H Club and other programmes.”She added that she’s thankful to the Morehouse family for embracing her son. “I want to see what Stephen becomes 10 years from now,Cheap Carolina Panthers Jerseys,” said Crawford. Page added, “I want to be at his graduation. And then I want to walk by and touch the [campus] statue of Dr. Martin Luther King and recognise I had a role in [Stephen] walking in Martin Luther King’s footsteps.”And how fitting, since Dr. King entered Morehouse at age 15. So to put a spin on Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech,Cheap Football Jerseys Throwback, Stephen is being judged by the content of his character, not by his age.

Minister of Home Affairs,Alec Morris Jersey, Clement Rohee, while meeting with the private sector of the Corentyne, has said that there is no perfect Police Force in the world. He questioned which country in the world has a “perfect police force. Name me the perfect families; the perfect individuals…and then I will ask you, if you don’t have perfection in a family…Then I will ask you, you tell me why we expect to have a perfect police force.”Just as families have the so-called ‘black- sheep’ and wayward ones, similarly we should accept that the Police Force cannot be perfect.“And the police force has admitted that; over and over they have said it perfectly; the Commissioner has said it, that there are bad eggs, bad apples and rotten mangoes in the force—a force with thousands of people.“How (do) you expect to have every member of the force to be this perfect policeman? It is a mass organisation and everyone that comes into that organisation comes from a different background, different upbringing and values”.They do go through training, he stated, to change those values and make them have police values and police philosophy, he added.Guyanese will have imperfections in a mass organisation of this type, he said, and the imperfection is where “you will find the individual situations…that a few policemen, here and there,Air Max 90 Saldi, are engaged in corrupt activities– I have never denied that”.It is indeed true, he said, that out of the thousands of police, “a few individuals are corrupt– but the point is, don’t take those few that are corrupt and brand and label the whole organisation as corrupt”.He noted, too, that he usually asks people for evidence when they come to him and report bribes being solicited by the police. “They say they don’t want any trouble…just to bring the evidence to prove that this policeman is corrupt, even that they don’t want to do.“And you know why? It is self- preservation—They don’t want to get involved,http://www.authenticjerseysnfl.us.com/Authentic-Nike-Arizona-Cardinals-Football-Jerseys/, but what they do get involved in is their mouths a run like Kaieteur News”.When it comes to giving the hard evidence that this person is corrupt, people are not prepared to do that, Rohee said. “But we are prepared to go on the basis of hear say–a hear– they say– but we ain’t got no evidence”.If indeed there is evidence that there are corrupt persons in any public organisation, “don’t only get involved in what is called rumour mongering”.He said that people are fed with the “juicy and sex stories that the media put out and they (the people) believe”.“Somebody just got to say, in a rum shop or in a cake shop or bus stop, that last night, I see Clement Rohee been pissing pon a lantern post; it ain’t happen, never happened, but somebody just got to tell somebody that– and it gone- -from one tongue to the next and don’t be surprised if you see it in ‘Dem Boys Seh’ or a newspaper”.This is the extent, he said, to which we have dropped in the society. “As long as it sounds denigrating,2018 World Cup Russia Jerseys, bad on the person,World Soccer Shop, this is where the evil in us is. People don’t like to hear good things of other people…they like to hear the worst of another person and to add insult to injury, when the person dead and lie down in his coffin, the people turn up like saints and they talking good things when he died”. Bring the evidence, he urged the public, “because it just can’t be Kaieteur News seh, or Stabroek News seh,Air Max 2015 Descuento, or somebody seh or Dem boys seh… it cannot be that!”He also noted that persons making corruption allegations have to be prepared to go to court and not only sit down and talk.Numerous allegations are always leveled against the members of Government agencies especially the Guyana Police Force, but people would never make corruption allegations against institutions like the U.S. or Canadian Embassies, since they place those agencies in high esteem, Rohee said.Rohee was asked by the Central Corentyne Chambers of Commerce to be present and address several issues raised by the chamber, including corrupt traffic cops,Calvin Ridley Jersey, traffic speed limits, and animals on the roadway.Rohee met with the stakeholders of the business community at the Nand Persaud Rice Mill Complex at Number 36 Village on the Corentyne. The meeting was deemed a failure by the businessmen since they said Rohee failed to address the issues.

She recalled one incident when her daughter was left with a friend, and when she went to check on the child she noticed burn marks on her daughter’s arms.“After I saw that I decided to stay at home with Natasha. I could have cared for her and given her the attention she needed, but financially I was unable to care for my two daughters,” she added. Some time later, Jacqueline again made a decision to find a job in an effort to make a better life for her two daughters.“I went to Kwakwani to look for a job and I left Natasha with some very good friends, and when I came back they told me they took her to the hospital…she was only nine, and a doctor told me that was the best place for her, but in the meantime try to find a home for her.” Jacqueline said she and other relatives tried getting Natasha into several children’s homes but were turned down,Maglietta Roma Bambino, and as a result Natasha was left in the care of nurses at the Georgetown Hospital. The aggrieved mother described her daughter as an affectionate person who craved attention. She is adamant that the young woman would never interfere with anyone. The woman said she has not yet received any official word from the Georgetown Hospital as to what really transpired. Meanwhile, for Natasha’s younger sister Nikita, the death came as a shock, even as she celebrated her birthday yesterday.“Today is my birthday, and the day before my birthday I heard that my sister was killed… I cried, because we were planning to go see her in the hospital…it would have been easier if she died of natural causes, but the fact that she was killed is hard to accept, because she didn’t deserve that,” Nikita said with teary eyes.Natasha was allegedly strangled with a piece of cloth by another patient of the Psychiatric Ward sometime around 4:00 hours on Saturday, after being beaten by the same woman.
