Spanx opens first freestanding store at Tysons Corner Center

On Friday, November 2, 2012, the shapewear brand Spanx opened their first freestanding store at Tysons Corner Center. Tysons Corner Center is a major east coast mall, located in northern Virginia. Spanx surely has several other store openings planned for the future, but the Tysons Corner store was lucky enough to be the first! Women will enjoy UGGs On Sale entering the store and developing a relationship with a sales associate who can provide them the guidance on finding the right foundation item for their wardrobe. The right foundation item is paramount to building a well fitting and flattering wardrobe.

The 1,200 square foot store is decorated in the red hue that has made the Spanx brand so well recognized by consumers, and has finishes in Lucite and lacquer. Furnishings are clearly geared toward women (see the video included in this story) looking for comfortable surroundings. The lighting in the store is soft and elegant (not that harsh, unflattering fluorescence!). You will find Spanx across from the American Girl store on Level 2.

Both Spanx founder Sara Blakely and Laurie Ann Goldman, CEO of Spanx, were present for the opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. They moved throughout the space speaking with customers UGGs On Sale who made their way around the 'Tower of Power' display and various UGG Classic Short 5825 Sand Boots sections of the store. The store includes shapewear, bras, hosiery, swimwear, activewear, as well as men's underwear, T shirts, and loungewear.

While Nordstrom and Bloomingdales already carry Spanx in their stores, the selection at this freestanding store is more extensive, providing more options for their customers. Whitney spent hours pouring over fashion magazines, building up a wardrobe of designer, vintage and emerging label fashions. She enjoyed working in the retail UGG Boots Sale industry for both fine department stores as well as boutiques for five years.
