Help me use my Garmin GPS gadget with my Powerbook

I just bought a Garmin Forerunner 205. I adore it, it's neat, wow, amazing. But I use an Apple and the software program isn't compatible. Can someone walk me via how I can get my PowerBook to understand the unit (and obtain the data) when I plug it in by way of USB and if there are any programs I can use that are similar to the "Coaching Center" software integrated?

Don't own a Forerunner myself, but some fast looking turned up this Safari plugin that statements to communicate with Forerunners. Have you tried this out?I also came throughout this Mac plan (but it seems to only function with the Forerunner 201):posted by mikeyk at six:ten PM on December 22, 2006

The Motionbased plugin (right here is the correct link) mentioned over will work, as will LoadMyTracks and GPSBabel. I like GPSBabel a lot better.

Garmin have said that Training Center will be accessible in an OS X version in 2007.

You can run the Pc edition in Virtual Computer or GuestPC just fine.

I have been taking part in with RouteBuddy lately. They have a demo you can obtain.

Unfortunately I haven't actually seen "Training Middle" in action, nike dunk heels, so I can't inform you how a lot overlap there is with the performance.

Routebuddy is frustrating if you are not in the US as you seem to be tied to their proprietary maps. It will read tracks etc directly from the Garmin if you upgrade to the 'Plus' version.

I 3rd (fourth) that you forget about coaching middle and use motionbased. I use the free MB and do not miss TC.

For what its worth, TC is not all that fantastic, and there is Absolutely nothing that TC will give you that MB can't. Cant say the exact same about the opposite.

Well damn, unSane. That will save me about 3 months of fiddling with Mac GPS programs. I'm not sure whether or not to thank you for the information or curse you for spoiling the pleasure of discovery. :)
