In an effort to curb boating fatalities during the time of year when boat accidents are most likely to turn fatal, the PFBC last year enacted a law requiring certain boaters to wear PFDs from Nov. 1 April 30.
That law takes effect this year.
During that six month period, which is considered the winter boating season, everyone on boats less than 16 feet, and on any kayak or canoe regardless of length, must wear a PFD.
It doesn't matter if the boat is under way or at anchor.
If you're on the Moncler Black Friday boat and the boat is in the water, then you have to wear a PFD.
