    Airing our bloggers

It hard, after years of gobbling up partial truths in our Facebook feeds, to shake the urge to present a crafted image of our lives. As each photo popped up from a blogger daring to air their home (sometimes literal) dirty laundry, there was nervous laughter often coupled with an explanation for the mess, an excuse.

Were they valid ones? Probably. Being trapped indoors for days during an unprecedented Polar Vortex is as good of a reason as I ever heard for disarray, but it too bad so many of us feel embarrassed by what life really looks like. Across the country we shuffling piles of laundry and towers of clutter out of the camera view for fear of being judged.

Yes, I want to do pandora retired earrings better, be more organized and would love to just once win at housework, but I also don want to be a filthy photo liar, erasing evidence of my family existence from pictures of our home.

This is my house, and we live in it.

Here, dark winter mornings mean not waking up with the sun, but by the glow of a lamp.

Rainbow Loom bits are spread aboutand workedon atop a king size pile of fleece.

An endless line of laundry waits to be folded or pilfered through on a last minute search for school pants.

The dog nails click about the wood floor as he anticipates yet another trot to the bus stop, while his shed hair silently gathers underneath the sofa.

Dishes from the night before, which nine times out of ten I too tired to tackle at the end of the day, clank in the sink as I try, try again.

There a harmony in our happenings I hope my boys will remember, and I wager the photo above is far more likely to spark feeling in 10 or 20 years than a sanitized shot ever could.

I not proud of our mess exactly, but real life is chaotic and cluttered and yet we seldom see evidence of that reflected in our online photo diaries. Our entire living room was already converted to a play room, no furniture left but cubicles and bookshelves filled with kid things, and it was stuffed FULL before Christmas. Enter the fact that every toy and book we received is still getting piled under the tree (that is still up) every night as my pandora rings jewelry sale pathetic attempt to clean.

We made some things for the kiddos in the workshop we have (takes up half our basement), which ate up more of the pre Christmas spare time I had, which lead to the rest of the house falling by the wayside. I normally have a cleaning schedule that allows me to keep everything looking pretty tidy, and it got completely ignored.

Add to the lack of time to do the usual chores the fact that I am experiencing serious first trimester drag from being 11 weeks pregnant with our fourth baby, and I have a 5, 3, and 18 month old to care for all day every day, and I am about to just run away and start over again in a new house.

On a side note Betsy, I love your house. You might not have closets and cupboards (which I am sure is awful) but the home is beautiful, even with the clutter.

My house looked like this and the FedEx lady called CPS on us. The CPS lady came and took in the laundry in progress in the den and the dirty cups on the kitchen counter and told me I had the weekend to clean and she would be back. When she came she interviewed my children and asked them pandora murano glass beads wholesale if they had ever seen Mama and Daddy using drugs or drinking alcohol or if Mama and Daddy ever touched them in a way that made them feel It was horrifying. It has been nearly two months and our case remains open so that she will be able to in at any time she sees fit. It is nerve wracking. I am a homeschooler with four kids, 8, 4, 3, and 15 months and another on the way. We keep busy all day long. We don have a water heater but my dishes get done every day, my children are bathed and wear clean clothes. How do you go from need a better system for your laundry to touching and going to keep my eye on you Anyway, beware of who sees your messy house and laundry issues. Shop local and make the mail carrier leave the package at the door.

This is so refreshing! Honesty makes everyone feel reassured which makes for better mommies. I agree with PP Sabrina, some of your posts remind me of a friend who was tormented by her own version of OCD. She had to feel everything she did was perfect spotless house, kids always needed to be ahead if the curve with milestones, could never let loose and get mad at or nag her husband. It was very destructive. (I also thought it was not in the spirit of the post to point out how hard it was to find a messy part of your house but that another issue

I really enjoyed this post! If I could take a picture of our house (we finally bought our own house in June of this year!) it would look very pandora rings jewelry sale similar to these photos:) There are clothes; clean folded on the back of the couch have been there three days and counting bedroom looks like a wardrobe exploded but the closet is relatively empty room looks like a toy bomb went off kitchen table is covered in everyones daily stuff day I have a whole weekend with nothing to do and get it all organized I can promise it will stay that way:)

The fact is that reality can be some days or some hours of the day and that just part of life. That not a reason to bash people who love a clean, not messy house and work hard for it. Personnaly I say, kudos to Sabrina.

I somewhere in the middle, there are areas that need to be presentable (not immaculate, but toy free and not shameful if someone walks in!)through all day (the pandora bracelets and charms kitchen outside of mealtimes or projects, the living room and the bathroom always)and other areas where clutter gathers and is cleaned up every few days. In the bedrooms for example, the beds are always done in the morning, but clothes or toys or books usually pile up for a few days.

I hate chores but I do them, my mom programmed me that way at a young age : ). So I do my 20 minutes cleaning battle every day. I simply function and rest better in a nice environment. Rarely do I leave a mess for weeks (like puting away the suitcase from week end get aways because I find it much harder to clean a big mess rather than picking stuff around every day for 20 minutes. Once a week is general clean up, with the help of a cleaning lady. Two pairs of hands work so much faster on the other hand, has a specialty for turning a clean room into messy in 20 secs.
