The most common cause for no spark on these engines is either a failed ignition coil in the distributor, or a failed crank shaft position sensor. Do this: see if you can get a scan tool connected to the vehicle and check for codes. If you have a code for "loss of crank shaft sensor" then replace the sensor. If you have no codes at all, then suspect a failed ignition coil in the distributor. Now the coil is not serviced separately. You will need to replace the complete distributor assembly.
