BILL BRAWLEY,Wildfire forces new closures at Yosemite National, R (Chairs the House Transportation Committee; recently named co-chair of Finance) The Matthews Republican shepherded Gov. Pat McCrory s transportation overhaul through both chambers and was a key player in two issues important to Charlotte: transferring control of the airport and helping the Carolina Panthers finance stadium improvements.  REP. BEVERLY EARLE,Sun Sentinel Insider_3, D (Vice chair of House Health and Human Services Committee) She s Mecklenburg County s senior lawmaker. Like most other Democrats this year, she had little influence on major legislation and usually found herself in the minority.  REP. RUTH SAMUELSON, R (Republican House Conference Leader; chairs House Banking Committee) Heavily involved in legislation including the airport, Panthers stadium improvements and abortion. Was a key player in crafting compromises on stadium financing and the airport. The measure creating a new airport commission is being challenged by the city of Charlotte in court. Senate  SEN. DAN CLODFELTER, D (Former Finance Committee chair) Found himself in the position of fighting most GOP legislation. With Republican Sen. Fletcher Hartsell of Cabarrus County,Yanda, Webb active for Ravens, Dickson, McPhee scratched, crafted a tax overhaul bill that never made it out of committee.  SEN. MALCOLM GRAHAM, D (Chairs Mecklenburg delegation) Like other Democrats, found himself in the minority on party-line votes. Defended Charlotte s control of airport. Often served as a foil for Sen. Bob Rucho and other Republicans.  SEN. BOB RUCHO, R (Co-chairs Senate Finance Committee) Played key roles in much of the session s major legislation including a voter ID bill and a proposed Charlotte airport authority. When Senate leaders rejected his sweeping tax overhaul proposal,Walter Reed a leader in breast, he briefly broke with party leaders and offered to give up his Finance gavel.  SEN. JEFF TARTE,For Gamecocks’ Clowney it’s all about consistency_3, R (Vice chair of Senate Health Care Committee) Former Cornelius mayor pushed through his top priority: a bill to fix Mecklenburg County s flawed 2011 revaluation. Also quietly started a dialogue with leaders of the Moral Monday protests. <br></html>
