TweetBefore we dive in, I thought you might like a quick update on how things stand in the office. As I write this, our newly-renovated studio is nearing completion. Or, to put it in Star Wars terms, it soon shall be fully operational. Chris and I — and I imagine the other podcasting teams — are looking forward to recording shows in a real studio instead of an Pandora UK office.<br>On Monday’s episode of TechStuff, Chris and I talked about Pandora Radio. This Internet radio service tries to deliver streaming music that matches your tastes based on a seed suggestion. For example, you might want to create a surf brethrenworldmission.com rock station. You could either create a station around a specific song like “Surfing USA” or choose to base it on a band like Dick Dale and the Deltones. Pandora Radio then consults pandora bracelets a database called the Music Genome Project.<br>Music analysts created the Music Genome Project by listening to songs and describing them using hundreds of attributes. These attributes include things like the song’s tempo, instrumentation, vocal styles and lyrics. Pandora creates radio stations by looking for songs that match the attributes of your seed song or band. You may hear music that is very familiar to you or you might encounter songs you’ve never heard before.<br>In the podcast I mention a radio station based on Jonathan Coulton. This technology predates the World Wide Web and allows multiple users to log into a centralized chat roomfor text-based discussions.
